When the cellular telephone became a part of everyday life, the house phone disappeared. Recently a Gen Z female did a video about how helpful it would be if there was a phone that stayed in the house, and you could call it to get ahold of anyone that lived there. She actually had no idea that a house phone used to exist. One place a landline telephone does still exist is in business offices. From interoffice communication to sales calls, to customer service support, to taking to-go orders, business telephone service is still extremely important.
With so many businesses going self-checkout, self-portals, and chatbots, it’s a breath of fresh air to come across businesses that still value the human touch. It’s nice to be able to pick up the phone and call your dentist or doctor’s office. Or your insurance agent or realtors’ office. Or the local pizza place around the corner to place a takeout order. The businesses out there that still value assisting customers over the telephone are businesses I want to do business with. This not only proves they still value assisting customers, but it proves they care about employees. These businesses keep people gainfully employed in a day and age where that is not always the case.
The number of industries that still have business telephone service is long. I’ve highlighted a few above. What is your favorite business that you interact with that still offers support via the telephone?
